The Shopping Bag Is Environmentally Friendly And Convenient
May 12, 2023
Shopping bags, as the name suggests, are bags used for shopping. The shopping bags available on the market mainly include: plastic shopping bags, non-woven shopping bags, paper shopping bags, cotton and linen shopping bags, etc.
Today's society is pursuing a low-carbon and low-pollution lifestyle. Due to the increase in population, the demand for shopping bags is also increasing. In view of causing a lot of pollution, environmentally friendly shopping bags are now used.
Plastic shopping bags are packaging materials made of polyolefin as the main raw material, with appropriate addition of other substances. The polyolefins used are mainly polyethylene (PE), commonly known as soft rubber, and the main products include low-density polyethylene or high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE), high-density polyethylene or low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE), linear low-density polyethylene ( LLDPE) and metallocene polyethylene (mLLDPE) four categories. In order to reduce its cost, most companies add about 30% calcium carbonate to make filled plastic shopping bags, which do not emit toxic gases when burned in garbage dumps. The newly issued national standard for plastic shopping bags divides plastic shopping bags into the following three categories:
Ordinary plastic shopping bags——Using polyolefin and fillers as raw materials, this type of plastic shopping bags is not degradable, and it will not degrade when discarded in the wild. These plastic shopping bags have excellent recyclability and can be recycled many times. The performance of recycled materials is slightly reduced to varying degrees, but it can be used to produce shopping bags or garbage bags with low performance requirements and color requirements. The key question is whether it can be recycled.
Starch-based plastic shopping bags - this type of shopping bag uses modified starch as the main raw material, and a small amount of other degradable materials are appropriately added to improve its performance. The plastic shopping bag is discarded after use and can be naturally degraded in the wild.
